Looking like the following weekend would work.

Would there be any interest in a part of the ozark trail? Current river section, or north of Alton, Greer trail section. I've not been on it so curious.

It looks like a few people have shown interest in this hang.

Towellie and I are hanging this weekend 5/11 - 5/13.

The following weekend seems to be generating some interest as well.

Who is interesting in hanging either 5/11-5/13 or 5/18-5/20?

Please post which date(s) you are available and we'll get some more definitive information out. I'm leaning towards Hawn State Park located in Ste. Genevieve, MO about 3 hours 15 minutes Southeast of Columbia, Mo.

This will be a backpacking hang, so be prepared to leave the parking lot.

Background: Many visitors believe that Hawn State Park is the loveliest of Missouri's state parks, with forests of pine and oak, sandstone bluffs and canyons, and clear sand-bottom streams. The park's many trails, picnic areas and campground are well suited for visitors wishing to enjoy the splendor of nature; it is truly a nature lover's paradise.
The 4,953-acre park preserves some of the finest areas for viewing Missouri's wide variety of natural wonders. The 2,880-acre Whispering Pine Wild Area offers excellent opportunities to backpack, bird watch or study nature. Covered with pine, oak and flowering dogwood trees, the area is home to a diverse set of plants, animals and birds. Pickle Creek, because of its high quality and pristine nature, has been designated as a state natural area. It is also one of the few places in the state where visitors can see such a wide variety of rock types exposed at the surface.

I would prefer a backpacking/hang trip where we hike to our campsites and not centralized at a parking lot.

Anyone else interested? I'd like to make this happen in May and open to any and all suggestions, just depends on who is interested.

The Bell Mountain Wilderness near Potosi, MO would be a great spot with one of the best views in Missouri.

Hawn State Park is also a good option near Ste. Genevieve, MO.

Let me know what you guys think.
I would be up for it

Sounds wonderful, but with my new work itinerary, you know shut down this job and go work somewhere else for 30% less, I'm not doing much in the way of anything right now. Maybe next year, maybe the year after, maybe never. I pretty much need to be able to walk to the hang and hang there. However I am meeting up with a buddy at the end of this month and then going to a fly in 2 weeks after that. Then it's all business till things improve. Take lots of pictures for me.

Has this thread determined what they are going to be doing?

Me and a buddy will be going camping down near doniphan and floating during the day. My uncle has 250 acres down there that i will be on the beach of the current river.

My buddy is tent camping but im gradually getting my stuff together for hiking and hammock camping. So it would have to be close to a car most likely...

    Im open on the 18thish.

If you move the date I would jump on the opportunity to go along. I am not sure what weekend I have available in May but I will continue to watch this thread and see if the date changes.

    Thanks

there is also a south east il hang as well it is over near garden of the gods. Which is 2 hours for me. if the mo does it that too will be @ 2 hours as well.

So im impartial to it. Currently the plan for me is to sit on the 200 acres my uncle has at this location.

Right smack dab in the middle of mark twain national forest then heading down to do KC's to float a few miles. Not sure might do the 21 mile float and camp on the river overnight. Not sure just yet but floating is in the itenerary!

The best part im on private land and no one to distrub us, no rules about "BUY OUR CAMP FIRE WOOD" No one to do the howling at night and ignorant people flying down
    dusty roads.
