I received my new Big Otter and Big Daddy today. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a little while to put them up in the yard to check them out. I had knee surgery, and I'm still hobbling around on crutches. I'm stoked that Marty got some pictures of my Big Otter before he sent it, so I can see what it looks like already. Based on the packed size of these babies, they are very compact. At first glance the BD is about the size of a 12 oz. soda pop, and the BO looks about the same size as my packed Trek Light double hammock. Sweet. Weight isn't as big of an issue on my raft, but packed size it. The Big Otter comes in a double ended stuff sack....very nice. I'll try to get some packed size comparison pics soon in case folks are curious. Big thanks again to Marty. A great purchase experience.

Sorry to hear about your knee. It's awful to have new gear and not be able to try it out right away. I've had my tadpole for almost a week now and haven't had time to set it up yet. It's killing me! Oh well, as long it doesn't rain on Friday I'll have time to do some seam sealing. Who knows, I may take an afternoon nap under it when I'm done.

Ok....so I at least got the tarps (Big Daddy & Big Otter) out of their stuff sacks today to take a look at them. Just laid them out in the yard for a quick look. I didn't have time to pitch them fully yet, but at first glance they look awesome. I did however get some pics of them after I restuffed them in their stuff sacks. 16oz.(8.5 inch high) bottle of ice tea for reference. The brown is a 144 inch ridgeline Big Daddy, and the green is the new 12ft. X 15ft. Big Otter, Wild River guide tarp.
As soon as I'm able to get them pitched properly I'll add more pics.
