I'm still trying to get the hang of setting up the vertex. It takes me about an hour of fiddling and its still not right... I'd like to try the following and am interested on suggestions / experience. My goal is to setup a ridgeline so I can get the lay right (it is supposed to have a 45* angle from the tree) and improve the tree strap system (which is impossible for me to setup alone).
My thought is to swap out the entire suspension and put a long amsteel continuous loop at each gathered end (4 of them) connected to a cinch buckle / strap combo. Then connect a ridgeline between the cinch buckles of each canoe. The loops will need to be long enough so the ridgeline can clear the top of the vertex and its canopy/poles..
I really like the idea of the vertex for the wife and 5 year old, but am stuck on the ground until I figure this out. Thanks for the suggestions...
