I don't think this is the case since I have a pretty good understanding of the concepts of the different forces applied to the varying separate axis involved.
That said, maybe I wasn't clear with my typing. I often tend to step on my toes or fingers in this case

I'm going to be building mine tomorrow... Have a question though:
I'm planning to use this with my ENO DN with the "stock" rope suspension/biners. What length ridge pole have others used with this setup to get a good hang angle?
I'm going to try to scour the thread for an answer, but I thought I'd ask...

Built ~Tweaked~Transported~Tested~APPROVED…

TurtleDogFrame:
2” x 2” x 7’ non angled legs attached to a Heavy Duty 6” T-Hinge.
Legs are tethered 24” up from bottom end to maintain a 48” spread.
¼” eye bolts on the bottom hinge hole of the single leg. (used for tie down if needed).
3 piece Ridgepole:
2 - 10’6” chain link top rails, one cut to 6’, the other 7’.
Each of the tapered end sections are trimmed to 41” with 3/8” eye bolts set in 2” w/vinyl tubing to protect the continuous loop.
This allows the choice of a 12’ or 13’ ridgeline.
Ridgepole Hang:
Hinge – shackle – S-hook, 9” length of 3/16”chain – S-hook to eye bolt on ridgepole.
This allows adjustment for a correct hang angle and a desired distance from bottom of hammock to the ground
Hammock Hang:
6” amsteel continuous loop, integrated in webbing/buckle suspension slipped over the ridgepole on the outside of the vinyl protected eye bolts.
