    OK link was missing the "L" at end;
    http://www.webriggingsupply.com/page...nfittings.html

    I am assuming you were talking of Part A?

    EDIT: I haven't read through ALL 200+ pages yet...but I haven't seen so far any info on how beefy they should be to support 300-400 pounds? I am guessing 2x4s are OK along with steel pipe as long as I use proper fittings and load rated eye bolts through the pipes to hang from a concentric area?

    My first DIY. I need a better hammock to go with it now.

    Cedar 2x2s, and a fence bar thing. It just needs cord between the legs now.

    Looks good! You have some pretty prominent knots there though. Be careful where you hang until you are sure of it and watch for weakness near the knots.

    That is sheathed climbing cord. It seems to hold knots well, once you get them in.

    I believe he was referring to the knots in the 2x2s being weak points in the legs.

    Yup. That is what I was referring to.

    Ahh. Those were the best ones I could find. It was that or those glued puzzle piece ones.

    Finally got the hammocks I ordered. My son was happy and surprised. We hung his on an old "by the pool" metal hammock stand to test out (no trees in yard suitable to hang).
    I have a 6 ft fence around pool and tested laying a 10' bar across the corner. It worked but too much sag and too close to the corner.

    Soooo, I decided to jump in and make some stands.
    As I was getting my hardware and lumber together, I ran across these. Thought is to hang these from the tripod (hinge) and let the bar rest in the straps. Note these are velcro. Note also that the load is for 300 lbs. Lastly, note the disclaimer on the back says not intended to secure human weight!.

    Should I use these? I like the concept because it makes it more portable. Thoughts?

    I have a set of these that I use for other purposes. If you can sew the velcro permanently closed you'd be better off.
