This is the way I'm doing them now except I'm going to try the tee nuts. It's not as elegant as using cordage but it's very functional and easy to use.

How many wraps do you do for the prusik?. It doesnt slip towards the center?

hppyfngy...I see you have a plug in the bar. Is that to keep stuff out or to beef up the eye bolt conection? Or both?

You know, I had scraps of pt lying around from making the stands and I thought, why not? So I rounded a couple of 4 inch pieces and shoved them in there.

I also put nuts top and bottom for extra support and to just solidify everything.

Overkill. I may not do either on the newest builds. Then again I might. Overbuilding is better than underbuilding...

It's either two or three. Never had any slippage problems and never did anything special to the pipe. That prusik is one cool knot. I may try a Klemheist as that is supposed to hold even better and be easier to take apart after it gets loaded (though I've never had any of those problems with the Prusik).

Just checked my line stock pile and it looks like I have enough to do it your way. Saves a $ or two and it will also help with the "I cut it twice and it's still too short" syndrome when figuring out a proper length to cut the pipe for my set up.

I hear ya. I'm pretty new to this hanging thing and am still moving the stand and ropes around to find the ideal setup, so I like the adjustability. And I like playing with the knots.

The length I need to fit in is a little under 12'. My winter shelter is 8'x12'
It's just a ride and we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money, a choice, right now, between fear and love.

Can you shoot from corner to corner? You can get about 15' that way.

Otherwise you have a couple of options. You make the stand shorter and use a short hammock, or you could have the tripods as far apart as possible and let the pole extend beyond them. It's possible to do that but it's trickier. If you don't hang the hammock from just under the attachment points, the ridge pole is subject to a lot of flex. Many have had failures because of this, but it's possible to overcome, especially if you're not too heavy.
