OldDog - that's GREAT! It is hard to see how he connected the poles, but I'll ask that over on that thread. Thanks for searching for it.

A couple updates. First, I cut my top rail (60/40) to make it more portable. Also switched over to using 3/8" eye bolts to connect the rail (directly to two chain quick links to the hinge). I slept in it Friday evening and everything held together fine. :-)
Hi,
Is your version a bipod at each end and a staked out line for the third leg, plus a ridge line?
thanks.
Too bad you didn't make it to the Colorado Fall Hang this weekend... I actually debuted my MustardDog stand, which is designed to hold two hammocks in parallel. If you built one end as a standard turtledog tripod, and the other end as one of my monstrosities, you could have a very nice three-point suspension for a Vertex.

I wish we could have made it. We were busy, but at the same time I can't understand how you stayed warm. I need MORE INSULATION!
well, completed my stand tonight(finally) At last this morning got my low priced top rail sections and in the dark finally got my cheap hammock hung, did not want to risk my BB on the first attempt. victory was achieved, i only grazed my backside on the ground as the lashings didnt hold on one side and my weight caused a slow drop. No harm done, and I stopped for the night. Will sort out the lashings and get the BB hung tomorrow pics once it looks right ) Thanks to EVERYONE that has posted, all good info and many nice pics. mine is not pretty but it works over engineered and heavy, but solid

Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
I think when we hit 100 we need to have a hang somewhere. Beach, desert, high plains, somewhere there are no appropriate trees.
