    thx for that photo.
Great photo, as It shows the BOW going up. Can I assume???, the adding of the ties to the anchor coming straight down from the Stands To pipe. Make that Bow go away??. Or another words, less chance of failure and hard thump the ground.

Photos like this helps, one see's on how to make one. Then Just add tarp ;-)

I have yet to build mine, which shall be soon..

I can't take credit for the build. HarleyNemo built it. I just sleep in it

What size are those eyebolts you have installed? I assume the wood inside is just to give you additional stability at the hang points?
Was that harleynemo's # 79 or was it a new one built for you?

Correct, coming down from the hinge to the ridgepipe, THEN the connection to hammock, is the correct method. Shown here, on the picture, you can see the hammock is connected to the end of the pipe, NOT in line with the hinge
You want all connections in a vertical line from hinge down to the pipe down to the hammock to disperse the forces evenly across the pipe. See, clear as politics.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

    Pappy,
You asked me for some measurements from my stand. Below is the measurements from the 3 legs and close up pictures of the how the top fits together.

    Rear Leg
    81.75 inches outside
    80.0 inches inside
There is no "off set on the top cut"

Front 2 legs are cut exactly the same
    83.75 inches outside
    79.5 inches inside
There is a .25 off set on the top.

Attached are pictures including what I am calling the off set in the cuts.
    Thanks dkurfiss!

This was my first hammock, I've got it on rather long whoopie slings. I thought about it and ran upstairs and got my regular suspension from my everyday hammock which I just happened to be washing. It had loops just big enough for my biners so instead of whipping around the pole next to the downline I clipped it on the end, testing everything else.

After my grand-daughter came over I packed everything up in the back of my truck, took the suspension upstairs and made for more links. You remember that thread about not having knots in your Amsteel? Well there is one knot each on my links and they were beginning to fray, so I made replacements for those too. I screwed up, my pole is segmented and to get it the right length I cut some off one end. Unfortunately I forgot that 79 inches is the maximum for my truck bed and the long pole is a couple inches too long. I'll go buy another, divide by two and have equal length poles, this week. Going to the zoo today!

    Re: The TurtleDog stand

Don't forget if your fixed eye isn't big enough you can usually larks head that loop onto the pipe... With my UCR set up I was always just a little too low on my stand... So larks heading my fixed eye works perfect to pull me up a few inches, which makes my ridgeline the perfect tension... Simple adjustment and it pulled everything right up to perfection...

Do we have a gram wienie wanting a TD stand?

Sorry just my first thought. Actually have never considered the weight. Light enough that a 62 yo can pick both pieces up and load into the pickup.
