hehehe... guess the title says it all. I usually tell my wife "if it will hold 'Lard Butt' it'll hold you." Well, it didn't hold Lard Butt. I must say that it had more than a few hangs on it already, and it was hung around a square treated 4X4 plus there was a repetitive stress corner but.... crap I dropped on the bottom 4X4 whilst floating nicely in the new bridge.
Do I get membership in a club or something?
Well, we'll see what happens with a strapworks webbing.

well, that stinks! I always wonder when wearand tear is going to become an issue with my name brand or Harbor Freight webbing. Or HH rope. I hope you escaped uninjured!

I got dropped on a test hang in the basement. It was only the second use with Polypro straps. The strap broke at the rings. I noticed some abrasion on the straps and it must have been enough to tear though. Dropped me right on my butt on the cement floor.

Me too! but it was because I didn't check my tie offs. I didn't tie my knots for real to the tree huggers because i wanted to get the hammock even between the poles and once I had it set up I was so excited I forgot to tie them for real and kerplunk. I going to pretend it happens to everyone and not just me.
The exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was using the Hennessy lashing and I just go over twice when I'm adjusting and then go back and do it 2-3 more times when it's right. Well I forgot to finish off the head end. There seems to be quit a bit of Strap on Strap aggression in our major cities these days. Seems to be a real problem with the younger generation.

I have the Wally World straps and they are abraiding at the rings as well. I have a slip knot that I tie behind the rings (learned that trick the hard way) and the webbing has started to fray on the edges. I'm guessing its from the strap on strap friction?
