    Will this fabric work?

Went to local Joan Fabrics and found these two nylons. Its does say ripstop on one type other does not also neither say 1.1 1.9 or anything like that. Wanted to know it if will for a TQ and UQ. Also how much down would I need each to make it 0 degree. Here are pics of tags.

Can't see the photos, however Joann Fabrics does carry ripstop. It is 1.9 and is NOT suitable for making quilts. Also, the amount of down varies depending on how big the quilt will be. For example with an under quilt, are you making it full length, 3/4, 2/3 etc.

there's two "diy quilt calculators" on this site one for bottom and one for tops. fwiw- stormcrow makes their's out of 850fp down...0 degrees f= 3.5 inches thick. a diffrent fill power, you might want to make adjustments. all the rest depends on what you intent to do with the made gear...if you'll be backpacking the weights will be much more critical than if you're car/motorcycle camping. something else to conisder..is the proposed mat'l breathable or not? personally i wouldn't sugest anything BUT breathable fabric.
