Question Hennessy ocf underpad in a Blackbird

I have currently a HH Explorer Deluxe, the super shelter system that I used summer-automn, and a wonderful HG O°F Incubator for winter.

I really love it, but I am in the process of trying to reduce weight, without sacrificing too much comfort… and the Blackbird is tempting. I was decided for the 1.7 SL, but then I began thinking…

Would the HH foam underpad be a valid solution to use in a 1.1 double layer Blackbird?

I am afraid the foam would be too compressed and loose its insulation capacity (already weakened by the absence of the HH undercover). But if it is doable, I might have a nice comfortable setup without having to buy another UQ.

    What do you think?

I think you are right, If you put it into the pad pocket rather than suspended under the hammock, it would compress and have little insulation, being open cell foam ( OCF ). CCF would not compress and would be plenty warm, but probably would not be as comfortable.

I have managed to fit my HHSS #2 onto my WBBB and it seemed to fit pretty good

Thanks for the correction, I edited the title with ocf.

It was an sudden odd thought, and I would rather go with the 1.7SL anyway.

I am happy to read you had success with the complete HHSS on a BB, I can try that, and eventually buy a Phoenix later; that would make a lighter set-up than the Explorer Deluxe + SS (almost 2 pounds…!)
