    BB58-that's right.

    <grizz speak>
    The bridge's axis of rotation (top of suspension triangle to top of suspension triangle) is closer to the occupant's body than the axis of rotation for a conventional hammock (point of attachment at tree to point of attachment at tree). So it rotates more for a given amount of imbalance across the vertical plane that intersects the axis of rotation. This makes it feel tippier---much to the discomfort of some, judging by comments here on HF---but in my experience I've never been in any danger of spilling out. There's a reason for that too, I think. The corners being stretched out by the spreader bars make the sides very supportive if the hammock is rotated sharply. That's not necessarily true with a conventional hammock, because the sides can get bunched towards the center line, where all the support is.

    Despite the "feel", I think it is pretty difficult to get dumped in a bridge hammock. You can tip the hammock pretty sharply getting in and out over the middle and be OK.

    Kudos Mule. The bridge looks great.

I will be making a bug net for it soon, and I will see if the JRB Weather Shield fits it too and add to the discussion. Rings would have been easier and better, but whatagonnadoo?

    Work in progress. But still at work...

    One piece bugnet.....

    Set up with clothespins for fitting...

    This beasite is most decidedly not for close inspection. But the wife has been in it and seems satisfied with the progress, warts and all.. so I guess that's a good thing.

    Maybe I can get her to go forest camping as long as we have the car right there...
    I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    Took the plunge and sewed the bugnet in (velcro is wicked pricey for us atm.) after washing it to try and remove the artistry of certain avian fans. Not sure if they were commenting on the craftsmanship or simply expressing their artistic sensibilities. Either way... I'll give them a new canvas in the morning. Can't hang it tonight. It's dark and the wife is busy doing her own sewing projects, (this time for money) so I dare not disturb her to have her come out and gear test. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some pics.

    Do you have a zipper on the bugnet? I am looking forward to the photos. Looks great so far. Mule

    two zippers... one on each side. The ends are what I sewed in. I need to replace the zipper slide with double tab but I need to find them for a #10 zipper. I can get them on line, but the shipping is four times the cost of a slide. Without the double tab I can't test it by myself. It's coming along.

    Using the ATHH as an ATPP to placate the avian critics...

    This time it's loaded...

    Bugnet sag..

    Hammock Princess? Maybe... she seems to like this one.

    Until I get the new sliders and decide if I'm going to do end caps... this one is usable is not optimal.
