Seems like I see a thread every now and then about a hangout at a state park, but I thought I'd check and make sure the park system doesn't have a problem with hammocks. I do remember being told to remove my hammock at one point years and years ago, but:
- Hammock camping wasn't on anyone's radar back then.
- I wasn't camping, we were just having a picnic and I strung up a mesh hammock.
- There were no tree straps (nor had I ever heard of them)
So now I'm planning a bike trip, and I have some overnights planned at Portage Lakes and Mosquito lake. I would hate to get there and find that I can't hang, and I may be able to plan for other stopping places if I know ahead of time that hammocks aren't allowed.
