Which one? Composer or PM-32?
Had a good friend of mine's son use one of those. He documented the trip he and another person did on bicycle. From Half Moon Bay, California, to Terra del Fuego at the tip of South America. Took them 6 months to complete, I wish I had kept the postings he made.

Can you still get those things activated?
As far as I know, yeah....... I shot an email to them at 6 am and had a response within 5 hours that was specific to my questions ( no form letter).......... Also, I've have had a couple of recent (last 12 months) TrailJournalist reply to my email inquiries and claim that they had no trouble with theirs... Can't vouch for PocketMail personally, though............
you will have better luck posting this on White Blaze. More LDH's there than here

I bought a used one on ebay last year and used it on my hike. Worked great. Sending it to a buddy who is going to South America for a few months to use. They take a beating as long as you don't get them wet.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
