    Same issue

Mine did the same thing after the first hang. No moisture, no tangles, just pulls. To make sure I could still use the line locks on the tarp I replaced mine with some 3mm reflective cord from REI.

This can be a problem with all double braid cord/rope. Unless the outer braid and inner braid are matched in size and properties, the inner braid will do exactly as pictured.

Mine did that on the very first use, too. I figured it was because I was using Nite Eze Figure 9s, then I noticed that the same thing happened with the tensioners on the tarp itself. I think that rather than messing with swapping them with the same stuff I'll replace them on my own with something better and be done with it.

I use paracord. It's cheap, strong and not much happens to it. I'm new to hanging but I have been using paracord for years for everything and never seen it fail in any way.

Using a paracord and the small Figure 9 I fixed mine, probably for good.

    Materials required:
Figure 9 for each anchor point (6 for the ProFly)
Paracord cut to desired length (ends whipped/melted)

Pictures are worth a 1000 words so there are 2 attached.

In the off chance I run across the right size cordage, I left the original hardware in place.

Tie one end of the paracord to the loop on the fly [1] and put the fig 9 right next to the fly as shown:

After securing the guy line it's a 2 second matter taking up the slack like so:

You can tie off the loop for a bit of extra security or if it's in the way if you want.

    Hope this is helpful.

I replaced all of mine with Tech line (dymeena) from diy gear supply (http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/p...age/cord-line/ ). I'm also using taut-line hitch knots for adjustments. I've not had any problems since the upgrade.

EDIT: I do also use paracord for my tie outs on my gearguide 12x12 tarp w/taut-line hitch knots. I've not used it in extreme weather though but I'd expect the paracord to stretch some in windy/rainy conditions. Have you had an negative stuff happening to the paracord since the change, Rob?
