Valve sources for air mattress

I got some heat sealable fabric from rockywoods and I am thinking about a. making my kids some air mattresses and b. making a stuff sack for my clothes and will have a small compartment for air as well to double as a puffy pillow

I see valve replacement kits but do these have everything I need to install or is it just one piece. Does anyone know where I can get the entire valve mechanism or can anyone direct me to a tutorial for it?

the new-fangled water bladders might be the trick... I haven't seen a full valve assembly for sale...

Hmm. Those may be an option. I know i have seen people just make a knot for closure. Maybe I can dig up some damaged air mattresses for parts.
