    WL Rocks

A huge thanks to Marty for helping me out with a new custom tarp for my river rafting trips. He has been so great to work with. Excellent communication and easy to work with on a new tarp design. He sent me drawings with ideas, fabric samples, and came up with the perfect design to fit my needs. I can't say enough about his customer service, and I can't wait to get my tarp.

Check out the WL website, and you'll see my Wild River guide tarp....The Big Otter. I am honored to have the first. I can't wait to use it this summer.

Yep, it's big compared to hammock tarps. We will use if for shade and rain protection on river trips. A great size for groups of 2-8 people to cover the river kitchen or the group hangout area. So much lighter and easier to pack than the coated nylon tarps we've used in the past. I had a similar tarp last summer, and it was an awesome tarp, except for one thing. I didn't give any thought to color when I bought it, and the light gray wasn't as good for shade production. The new Big Otter should be good for shade and rain protection.

    I am with you!

I might be one of the New Wilderness Logic Groupies. Marty is doing a great job. I have been using the Kelty Noah 12 for groups, however, when funds allow I might give the OTTER a try. Happy trails!

I upgraded to the silnylon cat cut rectangle tarp after using a Kelty Noah 12 for a few years. The Kelty is a fine tarp at a good price, but we struggled to pitch it as a kitchen/group tarp. I lends itself more to a diamond pitch, and try as we might,we could never get a taut,non-flapping pitch. Plus I wanted a tad bit more coverage with the 12X15 size. This size gives enough coverage for the river kitchen, card table, four chairs, four humans, and a chocolate Lab river dog in the rain, or six to eight folks plus the card table and chairs in the shade on a sunny river camp. My river buddies are quite envious of how light and easy to pack these tarps are. No more 10 lb. tarps for me. Just one of the crossover river/hiking gear ideas I have gotten on HF.

I have to agree. I ordered a Tadpole last week, after business hours no less and still had it in my hands in about 36 hours. Even though I'm in the same state I was super impressed. The best part was that it didn't come in a box but in a envelope. If it's folded and rolled it takes about the same space as a pair of wool socks. I couldn't be happier. When it's time for a new hammock they're on the top of the list.
