Here it is with underquilt attached using Dutch's quilt hangers clipped to the 'bridge' of Amsteel that goes across the carabiner.

Haha...this reminds me of my first hammock experience in the navy 30 years ago. It was just a cheap poly line but had no clue about rigging or hammocks but quickly learned that a rocking ship and my line tied off in the angle iron did not mix...I met the deck around 0300.

Anybody try a piece of titanium tube through the channel ?
Either that or the more common setup with tube outside with an amsteel loop through the channel.
tammons.........Yep, Easton Aluminum Stakes with a 1/4-inch Titanium Rod inserted and end caps epoxied.

Foxpoop..........very elegant and well thought out, especially the wraps and ridgeline.
I have been contemplating using 900 lb 48 strand Stainless Steel braided shark leader wire crimped with an eye splice, the insert could be eliminated for ease of creating two short sections with loops on each, with each attached to the ends of the epoxied caps. In this manner the triangle can be shortened to be less than a few inches. I am thinking that 900 lb of leader will negate the loading forces of such a shallow apex triangle suspension.

Came across this thread a few days ago but have been thinking about it several times.
Had some leftover aluminum tube from another project with similar dimensions as a tent pole but it failed and bent before I got my feet of the ground. Don’t know the grade but way too soft.
Some time ago I also tried with some carbon fiber tube (exel) I had from a kite project. It also failed but it was because the thin string I used split it open lengthwise (inside the chanal). The wall wasn’t thick enough. It may have worked if I haven’t loaded the weight to the string inside the tube.
Got a new idea today but it requires a water-jet cutter and titanium. Sadly I have neither but I wanted to share the idea anyway.

Got a new idea this morning.
The “pearl necklace” hammock end.
You won’t need the MSB but it will give you the same effect but hidden.
Beads on a string cannot be compressed IF there is a knot on each end preventing them from sliding. The distance between the knots Vs. the length of the beads lined up will to some degree decide how flexible it is and also how the curve it will form. Please have in mind if you try this the knots cannot be undone if you don’t take precautions! You could stick a nail down the middle of the knot while testing because it will give you a chance to undo the knots later.
How big should the beads be? I have no idea but you will need a hole so you are able to feed the line through. Please also have in mind the beads have to be inside the sewn channel if it’s an existing hammock.
How many beads? I have no idea. It will depend on the diameter of the beads and how long you will make the “necklace” .
Will the hammock slide sideways on the beads? I don’t know but given the shape the beads will form on a line I don’t think so.
Why beads and not a stiff hose? The fabric are likely to slide on a hose.
Be sure not to use wooden ceramics or glass beads. They can crush and cut your fabric.
Also be sure there are no sharp edges inside or outside on the beads.
Some time ago I made a test hammock with Grosgrain sewn into the channel and it will create the same effect but on a much smaller scale. At the time I did think much about it but now I do.
It’s all about creating bulk or in other ways insure the ends cant compress.
This is an untested idea for now.

The pearl necklace, I find this very interesting, however there is still nothing except the diameter of the bead, to keep it all from just folding in half at the center. The fabric may have less of a tendency to slide to the middle but the necklace itself will likely fold?? I'm guessing?
Good luck,
