As an Arborist I use Zing-it everyday. In fact every arborist uses Zing-it, lash-it, or similar. Over time the lines need to be replaced because of use, abuse or what ever. We use 150 to 200ft spools to set climbing lines in trees. When something happens to shorten the lines they are useless for big trees. Every truck has some "just in case" short pieces.
Contact your local tree company to see if they have some used pieces you can have. Zing-it is tough to splice new and almost impossible when old and worn but worn could mean free. We use such short pieces hammocking, you should be able to find workable lenghts.
I know I get my Zing-it supply from work instead of throwing it out.
