I would agree totally. I do think on my next, I shall give it a try again.

BTW, I got two of the smaller tablecloths in the mail yesterday. The 60x126 crinkle taffeta in navy blue is very nice and will make a nice hammock. The 60x126 heavy duty polyester that was on sale for $8.49 will make a nice tablecloth... No way that I'll bother making a hammock out it.

Meh, it was worth the money to find out anyway.

    I tried too

I received my 3 tablecloths yesterday and me and the boys gathered them and tried em out. It tried 3 different gathering techniques. I did the fan fold where the outside edges fold inside, a fan fold where the outside edges are on the outside, and on the last one I ran some thin paracord through the factory channel per knotty. All worked well but I think I liked the channel method the least.

After searching i couldn't find a weight rating for Taffeta. Would it hold 230 lbs?
    It's a hammock thing, you won't understand!

The wife no longer kicks me out of bed after she saw a hammock hanging in the dog house.

    Weight?

I am 200 and it holds me fine. I would think another 30 is within range. for $12.99 its worth a shot.

I'm 285, my Grand-daughter is right around 40 and my dog is 45. We've all three been in mine at the same time. Thats 370 pounds with no problem.

I believe earlier in the thread the weight was determined to be 2.3 ounce fabric and it's plenty strong. Little more stretch then my 1.9 dbl WBBB but nowhere near as much as my single layer Hancock ripstop DIY, which has had the same load.

Hey, the dog gets jealous, gotta join in the fun. Once one of my cats jumped in too, but he's only 8 pounds and didn't stay long.

Edit, corrected weight 2.6 ounce fabric. Thanks Hppy!

I also posted this in PowederKegs thread but This is a Video of another way to gather and put your suspension your tablecloth. I have a bedsheet hammock in the closet that I tied a loop into the end of my rope and attached this way. Instead of having a loop to hook a carabiner too I already had the rope suspension ready to tie to a tree. Just another way to do things. I made a whoopie sling suspension for my old hammock last night and am stopping by Harbor Freight for some straps on the way home. Will have another traveling hammock to play with next week at SPADfest in Newton, Iowa. Maybe let a friend or two see what getting off the ground feels like.
