Howdy y'all. I'm FireLion aka Robert. I've been a camper/hiker/bushcrafter my entire life. I've been a tent camper, a tarp camper, a tiny travel trailer camper, and a bushcraft shelter camper, and now I've made the transition to hammock camper. I'm 62 and sleeping on the ground is no longer appealing. As a new hanger, I'm here on this forum to learn tips, tricks, and about the gear associated with hammocks. I just recieved my 1st hammock, a Grand Trunk ultra light hammock. I plan to use it in conjunction with my 8 X 10 ultra light sil-nylon tarp. My pack weighs only 7# without food & water....ultra light is certainly the way to go.
