Nothing like being comfy in a warm hammock, though!
Jeff if you think that's bad, you should see some of the looks or hear the comments I got from my roommate when I put the hammock stand I ordered in my room. I figured what better place to put it. Now it is a lot easier to test the way I hang my hammock.

Just got back from Blood Mountain,Ga.
    Temp was 12 degrees at 9:00 P.M and 12 degrees at 5 A.M
Kinda strange. Snow all over the place from 2 days earlier.
Slept warm an cozy. Here is a list of what I used. All clothing was slept in:

    HH Hyperlight
Black Cat Tarp (Homemade MacCat version)
    JRB Weathershield-bottom
SPE 2X2 with 1 3/8 inches of closed cell pads. 3 pads total.
    (4) 1/2 inch wings
    Fleece throw
    balaclava
    watch cap
    gloves
    wool sox
    light weight poly thermal bottoms
    heavy weight poly thermal bottoms
Nylon pants (Wal-Mart Athletic Works brand. Awesome pants for the $)
    Smartwool zip shirt
    Expedition weight poly thermal top
    short sleeve polyester top
    fleece jacket
    frogg togg top

Would have used my Nest but it was being borrowed.

I think with all that clothing, I wouldn't need much on top! I discovered this at Rogers - If you've got enough clothes on to stay warm while being outside (and fairly inactive) in low temps, you probably don't need much additional for your top side when you sleep.

you're right, you don't need as much when you're using all that insulative clothing... but 12°f ???
i was a hair on the cool side by sun morn at rogers w/ my clothes & the ray way quilt. but for some reason i didn't put the JRB down sleeves back on the 2nd night. if i had i would have been fine<g>. i love my sleeves! ...tim

Except for my feet, which were COLD (I still haven't figured that one out), I was a little TOO warm Sunday morning with my clothing and NS on top.

    Cold Feet

    BB351,

Try on a pair of oversized Sierra Design mutts over wool socks. I picked up a pair for <$25 & they compress pretty good.

I also found out that too tight socks &/or long underwear cause loss of circulation & cold feet.

FF - congrats of a new personal low.
