Maybe you can sew it up with some cat gut if the cat didn't already bust a gut laughing.

As a bottom exit, it worked too well.

Dude, that looks painful! Sorry about the hammock. Im glad you posted this--its a good reminder that as good as our hammocks are, they do fail occasionally. Just imagine if you had been hanging really high in a tree, or ontop of some sharp rocks! Its definitly something to keep in mind when selecting a site!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I'm so sorry you had a failure that ended in a bruised pride. It is a great reminder to us all to check our gear for any small rips, tears or holes that could escalate to a major failure. Thank you for the post.

AMEN! It's "good" to read that hammocks and rigging do fail, as a reminder to exercise real caution.

Glad that only your pride was hurt ... and the cat wasn't under you. My cats and dogs like to lay under me sometimes!

I fear that could be my future if I don't lighten myself! Another good reason to start that diet and exercise program for me.
