Tobit, looks great! Mike has really got some skills. What fabric did you use & from where?

My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.
I was going to use Momentum on both sides but I took the cheap route and just went with 1.1 DWR Ripstop from Ayce @ Thru Hiker.
glad you are enjoying your new toy. UQ should be there soon.
I actually like the blue, its not as "loud" as some pics may show it.
I think you will be surprised at the warmth of the TQ with the 1.5" loft. I would use it down to ~35 or so and I dont have much in the way of body fat.
have fun out there and let's see some field action shots Tobit!
Yeah, I tried to take a nap under it this afternoon. Room temp was 68 and it was quite warm. Too warm actually.
USPS just delivered the Under Quilt!
I'll have pics and details a little bit later.
Alright, let's have some shots of the under quilt in action! All images were uploaded at 1280x960 so when you are viewing them in the gallery, click the image to view the full resolution if wanted.
Here we are hanging below the DD Travel Hammock:
Here we have the JRB style method of hanging the under quilt:
Here we have a close-up showing the recommended center drawstring on the foot-end:
Finally, we have a shot of the head end of the under quilt:
I think it's time to rehang the tarp and sleep outside tonight. 59 degrees for a low, should be a fair test.
Well, it's a little after midnight here and I've been trying to fall asleep but it's just way too warm inside the DD hammock. It's currently 66 degrees, 86% humidity, and almost no breeze. I have the under quilt on the bottom of the hammock and the top quilt inside with me. I'm not soaking wet sweaty but I am sweating quite a bit. I'm wearing my usual summer hiking garb; TechWick T-Shirt and Underwear, cotton gym shorts, and lightweight Merino wool socks.
This UQ and TQ combination is going to be real nice down to low temps I believe but above 60 degrees, especially with no breeze, it's way too much. I may go back outside tonight but, if I do, the UQ and TQ are coming in and I am bringing my endura silk sheet out with me to use as a top.
Hi
I hope you slept well after all but it's only 2:26 pm here
Have you got a pic of your stuffed quilt next to something so I can tell how big it is when packed please?
Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.

They both pack really small as much as 9" x 6" dia. for the top quilt. However, I don't like compressing them this much. Below is a picture of both of them stuffed in the same size sack. Both of these sacks are 13.5" tall x 7" in diameter and made out of Cuben Fiber. They are the medium-plus size from Joe Valesko. 13.5" to 14" bags fit horizontally in my backpack quite nicely.
