    First hang...and a question

My DL 1.1 and A-sym diamond tarp arrived in the mail yesterday. I made sure to rush home from work so I could play with my new toy.

I hung on two trees in front of my apartment. They were ~8-10 feet apart, and while that is not the ideal hanging distance, it was the best I could do.

The videos, reviews and photographs of the hammock do not do it justice. This is the most comfortable rig I have ever laid in, and it wasn't even hung right!

    Now for my question...

When I hung my tarp, I was using paracord, because that is all I had on hand. I was wondering if that is what the rest of the Warbonnet clan uses, or if they use something else?

Thanks, and I am happy to be a new member of the clan!

I have used it in a pinch but now use the night eyes set up.

I have used paracord but don't anymore due to stretch. I use Speer No Tangle line, JRB tarp lines, TripTease and mason's line. I have several tarps.

Paracord tends to stretch and is a comparatively larger line to something like Zing-it which is the common choice around here. It is small diametre so it is lighter and less bulky but very strong and non stretchy.

Mine came with the night eyes reflective line. 6 ft and mine is not the carbiner style figure nine but the no knot one. Zing it should work great with it though.

I am going to get some Kelty Triptease; I can tack it on to some other things I need and get free shipping from EMS or a store like that.

How long would you suggest for the guylines? I was planning to use 10' for each side of my tie out to the tree, and 5' for the line from the tarp to the stakes.

I appreciate all the help for a new hanger

My lines to the tree are 6 ft on each side cause that was how they came lol. Have worked so far but if they ever fail I will have to order something myself and my guylines are also 6 ft with 8ft on the pullouts.
