Arrow Video: Blister Bursting Moreton Island 5 Day Super Slog

Heat stroke, dehydration, blisters, fatigue, sunburn and a very enjoyable walk around, through and across Moreton Island. Four nights, 79.7 kms (49.5 miles) 20 hours walk time. Looking at the map, planning the walk, I had a hard time working out the distance for each day of walking. Looking back, it would have been better to do the walk in cooler weather, camp at North Point campground on the second night and it would have been better to slot in a rest day when I got to Ben-Ewa campground. All but the first day ended up being longer than I calculated, in both time and distance. As you will see in the video, the extra time and distance, along with warm weather and no trees for shade made the walk more of a challenge then it already looked to be on paper.

Very, very pretty, Bruciehi5. Looks a lot like some of the spots down here in FL.

I hear you on the heat exhaustion and dehydration. Tough to fight once they start, especially above 80 F/27 C.

And that sand, yeah. It'll eat your feet if you're not careful. I like sandals, since they allow that to drain out as much as possible. Helps to prevent those blisters, but it's not a magic cure for certain.

    Thanks for sharing!

Good gracious. I'd love to visit a place like that for a few days. After all that sand, heat, and dehydration, I'd be ready to head out though. The video was worth watching for sure. I'm glad I took the time and enjoyed it. There is a subtle humor in your videos that just cracks me up.

    European invasion!
The sand on the road to the lighthouse looked thick and soft=much energy to walk in.
You and the Blue Lagoon marquee-a magnificent shot Brucie.
Which solar charger are you using? Curious minds want to know.

On the Telegraph Trak I liked the Dr.Seuss looking palms...
Were there any other people at the lighthouse? Once on the Telegraph seems like total solitude for you.
What about bugs? I missed it if you said anything about them.

Dogs eye dead horse???? I'd like to borrow that vernacular, just have to figure out where to use it!
'Plenty of room to swing a cat' HA! Too funny
Near the end, you're walking down the beach-what's in the brown bag? Boots? Souvenirs from the resort? Dont keep secrets from us Brucie
Wonder how they can afford to run the boat with only 3 paying passengers?
You're right I rarely know what day it is when I'm off cycle.
Brucie as ALWAYS love your vids! They take me--literally to a different world--where I can ALMOST relax~there is always the possibility of a serpent!
