It's worse than you think, I know all the best gas places on three different routes, and can tell you that the best place to sleep in the car at the Adirondack Welcome Center is about halfway down far right in the AWC parking lot. It's just long enough that if I leave after work I get there about 1:30am...

Leaving after work today for a solo weekend with my hammock, canoe and the bugs.

Jealous. I'm left to hike a section or two of the AT in Virginia this weekend, and looking forward to Boundary Waters in June.

I found out last weekend that they taste just like chicken. I still don't know if I have a work conflict, I'll try to go.

You planning on staying in any particular location? I see the google map, that looks more like the route. The second "portage" is more of a wade if I recall...water like 2" deep.

No plans for specific sites yet...probably play it by ear based in what's available, and what looks good as we're paddling in...

Nobody posted on the thread for a while so I typed one word to get it back to the first page. But to make a long story longer one word is not enough to post. I just wanted to know if there was any updates. Like the fact that I'm going.

I'm getting excited too, and driving my family up the wall. I have my fishing license too, first time in about 3 years. Looking at maps too.
