    ENO DN Rope Removal

So I recently noticed the ENO pronest cut the rope and carabiner weight out by just threading the lighter carabiner through the ends. Is there any reason why I can't do this with my double nest? I have a new one DN on the way and think it would cut weight, but don't want to ruin it.
    Thanks

I have one too. I would take out the stock rope. There is a question about its stability. I read on here that it has dropped people. They r very easy to remove. I replaced mine with whoopie slings. Before u lay in it check the knots .

The stock cordage is awful...you can only make the DN better by removing it. Ditch the 'biner, too. A whoopie sling is a good choice, as is a continuous loop/buckle/webbing.

Of all the mods you can make to gear, this is as simple as it gets. Proceed.

I know it's hard to disassemble something new that you are proud of. After I got the confidence, removing the suspension was the best thing I ever did for my DN. Besides those biner's that came with the stock suspension have sharp edges and can snag the fabric. I did the Whoopie Conversion and use no hardware. Unless you count my Dutch Buckles on my AHE Tree Straps.

I changed out the suspension on my Trek Light double (very similar to ENO) to cinch buckles and webbing. It was super easy with the cinch buckle and chain link set from AHE. Best upgrade you can do for your hammock.

changing out the stock cordage is a standard practice here, Amsteel whoopies seem to be the most popular replacement, thats the way I went anyways... Stability wasn't an issue for me, I'm always cautious when entering/exiting due to my bugnet.

    Here you go... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXlwPKoKw9Q

Only thing I do different is I don't do the double pass through , I just make one. Works for me.
