I won!! Now I need advice

The good people at Hennessy Hammock have a free drawing once a month if you are signed up for their newsletter. I won the drawing for May! That means I get a dream hammock setup for free!! I know the hammock I want, my quandary is what rain fly should I get? I camp about once a month in all kinds of weather. I have an Expedition and the rain fly that came with it. I've never used anything else, so any help would be appreciated, I don't want to blow my one chance at a free set up!

    Congratulations!!!

Looking at the website, these are the ones I would choose:

    Cat Cape Poncho Rainfly Silnylon
    http://hennessyhammock.com/catalog/p...oncho_rainfly/

This serves multi purposes and can help you go lighter.

    or

    Hex Rainfly 30D Silnylon
    http://hennessyhammock.com/catalog/p..._30d_sylnylon/

This one is the largest they offer and will provide the most weather protection.

+1 on the Silnylon Hex tarp.

If you're allowed I would also get the full Hennessy Supershelter system (overcover too) for your chosen hammock.

What did you pick for your hammock?

    Cheers

I would go with the 30D Silnylon Hex Fly. That tarp will give you pleanty of coverage and is great for those rainy days you need to hang out under your tarp.

I would also go with the Hex (preferably the silnylon). Congrats on the win!

    Lucky!

Since you already have the stock fly for the expedition, I would opt for the silnylon hexfly. It's 8.6 oz heavier than your current fly, but it's really nice having the extra coverage when you're trying to make/break camp in the rain. Not to mention the extra privacy and rain protection.

If you are serious about counting your ounces, you could upgrade to the hyperlite 20D. It's the same size as your expedition fly, but 1.8oz lighter.

Congrats! I have nothing but good things to say about the Hex Rainfly 30D, Silnylon. I'd go with that, personally.
