Last week I was up there, temps were in the mid 50's at night and the low 80's during the day. The forecast looks like this:
Friday: High 77, low 56, 30% chance of rain
Saturday: High 77, low 53, 20% chance of rain
Sunday: High 77, low 55, 20% chance of rain
There were mosquitoes and flies, and I did find one tick.

I am in! Got permission from the supreme commander in spite of the fact that it is fathers day on Sunday. I just need to be back in Knoxville and showered by about 1PM on Sunday. With 4 kids and 9 grand kids it is difficult to abdicate the responsibilities.
Can I bring anything? Coming from Knoxville, it would not be a burden.
I am truly interested in lightening my pack. I am down to 11.5Lbs but would like to break the 10 pound mark and my body would appreciate it!.
I read this blog every day but am now just reading this thread. I must live in a dream world.
Hasta sabado!

Is that the whole cow or just the UL version? What is double malt? I am a Popcorn of Coke County fan.
no reservations available this weekend at Gregory Bald either.
We are staying at CS 95 Thursday night ---late arrival-- Friday morning up and over the bald spending the night at CS 92, Saturdeay morning hiking back to Twentymile where we started then driving to the Slickrock parking area on HWY 129 near the bridge.
The campsites above require no reservations. Poof and I need a climb or 10 between now and the HMW so we chose Gregory this weekend. In two weeks it will be one of the Mt. Sterling loops.
but that will a wonderful perquisite of the loop.
We seriously need big hills and many of them before Maine and Gregory was on the Slickrock side of things but by using 92 and 95 the reservations become moot.
Plus I'll have a good appetite for the buffet at the bottom of Stiff Knee
OK, I just switched out my summer TeWa for an ix UQ, pulled out the Sawyer Gravity setup for Chlorox drops and am down to 10 pounds 8 ounces (with the two Inertia dinners)...I've got to see how Rock does this. Probably be begging for a Ghost hammock Sunday morning.
