don't worry I will, I'm planning on going a week from tomorrow granted my hammock arrives as planned on Monday. Planning on using webbing, and buckles as my 1st suspension, and might attempt a ridgeline.

Sounds like you have a great attitude towards the whole thing. The cheap tarps will work fine for you. You will learn a ton from this trip and come back with new ideas on how to improve your setup and what direction you want to go.
You are already doing the best thing possible, and that is just getting out there and having fun.

+1 Agree with brazenatl. Great attitude and just get out there and get experience. You don't know how it works until you see it work (or fail). We as human's mostly learn from our mistakes. Don't be afraid to make them.

I'm going on a 3 day this weekend with someone new to backpack camping. He tried out my hammock and asked me to make him one. I don't have a 2nd "hammock" tarp so he's gonna use the trusty blue walmart tarp. I rigged him up with a continuous ridgeline with prusik and marlin for ridge tension and trot line for tie outs. I'm 100% confident it will either work or fail.

Keep it up and remember to have fun!

If you have a place to do it. Set it all up and test it before your trip. It's just good to know how it's all gonna work ahead of time, and if you may need to do something diff. or add something.
What are you gonna use for insulation?

I'm planning on using a cff pad for bottom insulation, and a sleeping bag for top. I live in an apartment complex, so I was planning on testing it out in some woods nearby whenever I have free time, but I won't be able to sleep overnight.
Hey if you guys wouldn't mind answering a quick question, I'm a little unsure about the difference between webbing, and tree huggers, they look the same to me. If I'm using webbing for my hammock, do I really need to get tree huggers so I don't harm the tree?

We call the webbing Tree Huggers but It's the same thing, no worries. The most important thing to know about webbing is Nylon stretches and Polyester does not. So try to use Polyester ones so your hang stays consistent and you don't slowly sag towards the ground.
Sounds like you've got a good plan. Good luck and please take pics & give us a report!
