That said: No matter or affect here whatever on sleep in the hammock, so long as it is there at the outset, wherever it drifts afterward. Next one will be cheaper.

Oh, right, I can just stuff the sack it came in; it's a better deal than I thought.

I am a side sleeper, and find I do not need as much "lift" from a pillow as I do in my bed. So I have taken a Thermarest pillow, opened a seam, and removed about half the foam scraps (TR uses the plugs they cut out of foam mattress blanks for fill). Sew it back up amd I am a happy camper.

I would recommend attaching a leash that can be clipped to a loop or other handy anchor inside the hammock - pillows have a habit of ending up under you when you enter, and ejecting themselves when you exit.

I like this one. http://www.rei.com/product/830617/exped-air-pillow I prefer inflatables in the hammock. Like with an inflatable pad, I think it works best with only a couple of puffs in it. The shape of this one means that if you only put a little air in it, the weight of your head pushes the remaining air into the part that supports your neck. This is perfect for me.

I made one out of fleece, climashield and ripstop. Similar to the WL ones... One side is fleece (great on cold nights) the other is 1.1 ripstop for warm nights... It's stuffed with climashield scraps, has a corner loop, shock cord, and ties to my ridgeline to keep it from going away...

It's about 7"x10" or so...

Works great.

I use the pillow that came with my set of Wiggy's sleeping bags. Filled wih Lamilite, awesome stuff.

I like those neck pillows. They roll with me either on my side or on my back. And I hook it over my ridge-line above my bishop bag when I'm not using it. I've also found that if I just take the cover, leaving the pillow part behind then stuff it with some clothes (I really like using my down sweater.) it's enough for me.

I tried a U shaped neck pillow, and it felt odd sleeping with it. I got a Grand Trunk pillow, and it works pretty good both laying on my back and on my side

Before I got into hammocking 2 yrs ago,,already had a synthetic pillow for me and the wife. Coccoon 10" x 15" which weighs about 6.3 oz and are super nice and perfect in a hammock. They compress nicely as well.
