Clingmans Dome to Fontana Dam 2012

Hanging Burrito has been wanting to do this for a few years and was lucky enough to tag along. HB , cooke, chef and myself started at Clingmans and hiked down to Fontana. We stayed each night off the AT at campsites down the mountain. I'm ready to go back, it was a blast.

Cool video. Those turkeys don't like to walk through the foliage when it's wet. It's obvious they're not being hunted.

Thank you for sharing. I am going to do the Smoky section of the AT one of these years start to finish. I have hit most of it while doing loops on the east side.

Hey Deerfu, we were at chattoga river a couple months ago. You were with your son, remember. That turkey had a busted foot ,so he was walking about same speed as us(slow).
