    Hello from Atlanta!

What a great site! I have been snooping around here recently trying to gather information for my first hammock purchase. You guys have a great site and offer a wealth of knowledge...so I figured I'd join ya However, I think I am further away from a purchase than when I first came across this forum Too many variables...circuits overloaded...

Maybe you guys can help. I had my eye on a HH Hyperlite. Mainly because of the weight. I do a lot of fly fishing and video recording when I'm out so weight is always an issue. I don't want to be uncomfortable at night but I DO need to keep my gear light. Sigh, sleep is important too. I'm 6' and 190lbs (195 on a bad day) any advise out there? The warbonnet balckbird is another thought. I do like the clarks but they are waaaaaay heavy. Any help in narrowing down my decision would be appreciated!

Hello and Welcome to the Forums from Canada! The HH is a good hammock but if I remember correctly a little on the smaller side for your height.

    Welcome from WA.

I'm assuming that you want the bug net included? The WBBBs are popular. You might also look at a Tree to Tree Trail Gear (TTTG) Light Hiker or the new JRB Lite Bridge.

If you don't care about the bug net (not needed in winter), then the light ones for length are the Grand Trunk Nano & the Warbonnet Traveler.

    Greatings from a neighbor!

In my mind, there are too many option to look directly at hammocks. I would make a few decisions first to narrow options down.

    Bugnet built in: yes/no?
If yes above, zipper location: side/bottom?
Double layer (for inserting a pad): yes/no?

Once you've decided that, you can narrow down 10 billion options to a few hundred million. If you don't want to choose at all, get the Dangerbird and have the best of all worlds!

    P.S. Love my WBBB!
"The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

    Bugnet: YES
    Zipper: YES
Double Layer: If I use an under quilt do I still need a pad? That will replace the need correct? If so, then no.

I do like the over cover on the Dangerbird...Nice feature. Does anyone know the weight?

So with those features, I'm looking for the most comfort for my size while maintaining as low of a trail weight as possible...probably what everyone wants, right?
