What do you do with all the extra line?

That is the question I got from my buddy yesterday as he was holding 5 ft of unused whoopie sling off the ground. Well I usually just let em hang was my response. But there has to be a better way , any ideas would help . thanks in advance - BOB

I either wrap it around the tree a couple of times or ball it up and use baggie ties to secure it to the other ropes/webbing

Tie it off with a slippery half hitch.

I'll usually figure 8 hank the excess and let that hang. I find if the excess is left to hang it gets in the way or catches on you in some fashion as you move in around your hammock

Niteize makes some 3 and 6 inch heavy duty "Twist-ties" that work well in keeping the mess neat and tangle-free. Longer ones work better on polypro straps. Found them at Walmart and ****'s SG.
They come in black and brighter colors that are harder to lose.
Put extras on pack, very dual use item.
    Just lov'em...

Wrap amsteel around your hand until you get s nice loop. Stuff loop in between fixed eye. It will sit tight right there just fine.

Like Brian I figure 8 hank the excess line and leave a little bit of the tail to wrap arounfd the hank. I leave a few inches from where the it leaves the bury so I can still adjust the whoopies without having to undo everything. Takes about 5 seconds to do.
