Does my DIY hammock look ok?

It all hold up together all right it seems, but the only problem is when i lay in it the hammock seems to part ways and not lay flat. May this be because i didnt whip it right? it seems like there is a line through the middle that sticks up between my feet.

The whipped ends should come to a single point. In your pictures, I think I'm seeing extra material around the whipping.

Another thing that can create that ridge is simply having the hammock strung too tight. Hang it with more slack to see if that helps.

to help your googling, try 'leg ridge' or 'ridge' as a search term.

    try this too. http://tothewoods.net/HomemadeHammock2.html

    you decide what's sleepable!

The hang might be making the ridge worse- try adjusting the angle.

Your hammock looks pretty good- if the ridge is a problem there are ways to fix that- but it might not be a problem.

Also try moving yourself more on an angle. There looks to be quite a bit of 'flop' over your feet.

Like others have said, mess with the angle/sag of your hang. If you find one that works I suggest you think about a structural ridge line so you can replicate it. If you can't fix it that way try redoing the whipping or try a different style. When I just did my hammock I must have considered 4 or 5 different ways to do the end. Keep tweaking till it works for you.
