Need a tarp with a shorter ridge line to use on Turtle Lady stand

    Hey everyone,

This morning I made a couple of modified turtle lady stands and put my wb bigmamajama on there but it is really too long. I'm needing something a little under a 10' ridge line on the tarp(the big mj is 11'). Problem is I am leaving for AK in just over 3 weeks and plan on carrying the stands with me (dont have to be too worried about trees in campgrounds and to make it work well I really need a shorter tarp but I don't have 1-2 months to wait. Anyone have any ideas of what models someone may have in stock? I checked AHE(tarps too large), WB(one tarp is 10'6" with 2 week lead time) and JRB(tarps to large). Any advice on options would be greatly appreciated.

I would give Marty at Wilderness Logics a call. He made a custom tarp for me in short order.

I'm a big diy'er with a wife budget. If it were me i would attach a 2nd set of rings closer down the ridge of the tarp to the distance i need. Then when i hung it, i would fold the outer origional rings under and secure them together with some extra line so they didn't flop down.

What about carrying a couple of nested tarp poles that you can set just outside of the hammock stands on either end? Just thinking outside the box?

Just buy another pole and cut it down to 2 ft and add it in between the other two. That's what i did.

Assuming you bought the tapered chain link fence pole

I second Cole's suggestion. The cheapest route is to just buy another pole section and cut it to the length you need.
