    Hello from Minnesota

So I was with my son at this scout meeting about a month ago when somebody says "Hammock". One thing leads to another... i watch Shugs videos... i sign up here... I see myself spending money in the near future...

anyway - I do not have a hammock, yet. I am looking to do something. I am looking real hard at an ENO DN. on sale this week for $45 at REI. Is that a mistake?

Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself, and have learned there is always more to learn. Any hammock will serve you some, better to get in one and see what you like.

I picked up an unused Hennesey and almost fell asleep in it in the first 3 minutes. October is their sale month and I bought a bit larger Explorer, and had zipper mods done so I can stow the bug net when I want. Picked up a used under quilt and some down overquilts. I'm heading out on motorcycle as soon as possible for a weekend on the north shore, but family medical situations has me cat- sitting until further notice.

I'm in mid DIY hammock and have to say it is more comfortable than either purchased hammock, but not sure I can explain why. I'm in need of ordering zippers, but just got a grand trunk bug net so I can delay that step a while.

I've also bought a grand trunk ultralight on amazon for $13 or so, great for the living room but too short for sleep now that I've got my long DIY.

You will likely do as many here have, and pick up and try several hammocks while you learn what fits your needs best, and may own several before you part with any.

There's lots of advice to be gleaned here, and lots of local members willing to share. There's also good deals in the for sale section, but items can go FAST!

I'm west of Wayzata if you want to try the Hennesey some time.
