I've been playing with the idea of hanging, have a hammock, made my own whoopee slings and working on an adjustable ridgeline. Next is adjustable tarp ridgeline and tuning the whole works. My son is a first year Boy Scout and I thought this would be easier than hauling a tent on the trail. Certainly lighter.

Welcome from Alabama. It sounds like you are already on track with our hobby. This is the best forum there is for hammocking. Enjoy your time spent with your son, they grow up way too fast. The UP side to that is next come the grandkids.I have an 8 year old grandson that I am introducing to hammocking. He loves it so far. Happy hanging.
