    Imminent Suspension Failure?

The zipper on My HH Expedition has pulled out of the whipping on one end. The fabric appears to have broken. Does this look like an issue, or just cosmetic.

Any suggestions for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Hennessy Hammocks. They have good customer service and could give you guidance. E-mail with pics would probably get their attention just fine.

I'm with Ramblinrev as Hennessy knows their hammock better than anyone. I can't see any damage to the main body of the hammock but see what Hennessy has to say.

I emailed Hennessy and am awaiting a reply from Tom. I'll be sure to update here with his opinion, as others will likely have similar issues on occasion.

That looks like a whoopie sling there. You might get a "invalidates the warranty" response from HH.

Even if it's not covered by warranty they may very well repair it at a very reasonable price. Hennessy has good customer service from my experience.

It's well past the warranty period anyway, 3 years old. I was always very careful to open the zipper nice and wide when getting in the hammock. Kind of surprising that it broke where it did.

Could the ridgeline have been too long?

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

It seems that Ramblinrev was right on. Here is Hennessy's reply. Very nice offer if you ask me! Now I have to decide what to get.

" its a complicated fix and could continue to come apart but i don't expect catastrophic failure. if you are interested, i could offer you any hammock at half price if you send your old one back to us to get it out of circulation."

    cheers, tom
