You can find them online for very cheap if no one bites here.

I just bought mine for 35 bucks at a army/navy store in town. Apparently that is on the high end because I read people getting them online for 15 - 20 bucks.

I can get them at my local surplus store for $20, but shipping puts my local price over the top.

Converting it to a UQ is easy... You just need a bunch of 1/8" or 3/32" shock cord, and some cordlocks. Walmart has cordlocks uber-cheap.

Thanks for the inspiration. I have a poncho liner just laying around, now I can put it to use.

Dang, I was going to suggest Warden's Supply, they have them on sale presently for $14.95. But it looks like you found a similar deal.

Do you intend to make a full length or 2/3 length PLUQ. I just finished a 2/3 length PLUQ that does the job quite nicely. Don't be afraid to ask for help/advice.

Looks like Warden's is a good place to buy as well. Thanks for the link. I had been looking at ebay but thought Id rather give my money to someone here if there was something available. Saw Johns post earlier and checked ebay one more time before I went to work and ran across this deal. Snatched it up before I changed my mind or someone else grabbed it.

Hmm I dont know yet, I guess Ill have to wait and see how big it is when it arrives. I figure Ill just use the full length as Im not too concerned about weight. However, Im only 5'3" so im sure a 2/3 would work for me. Ill probably do the "no sew" option as well since I dont have a sewing machine. I also kind of like the idea that I would possibly place a pad or something between the layers if need be. Could possibly even stuff it full of dry leaves or pine straw for a little extra insulation. Would be nice to keep in the car when Im not camping in case I broke down and needed some warmth. Lord knows with the POS I drive that could easily happen.

I like the Dutch ridgeline quilt hooks on my 2/3 PLUQ. I did the "no-sew" option but didn't like the paracord along the fold being so loose, so I took a small 4-6" piece of paracord and handstitched through it and the inner paracord. Also, the 2/3 has double layers and at 5'11, it covers from shoulders to my ankles and feet. Had it down in the 40* range with no problem at all.

My pl didn' t have any tie outs left so I sewed on grosgrain loops. Works great and I didn't need to use the length of paracord.

I really like the no sew since I can use it for most anything...
