Red face Do you leave you Guyslines on your tarp

    Hey,
I just got my Superfly (wow, it's awesome)
but was wondering, do you leave you guylines on your tarps when you put them back in the stuff sac?

If not, what do you do with them?

How do you get them to not get tangled.
I leave my lines on my Profly and they get a bit tangled up in the bag, and I was wondering if you take them off, they would still get tangled up?

    sorry for being a noob,

    Bill

Leave 'em on, roll 'em up, tie 'em off, and stuff it in. When ready for use, reverse it.

I leave them on and just stuff it with them. Luckily for me it barely ever gets tangled when i take it back out.

I leave mine on and loop them in a figure 8 around my fingers and tie them off.

+1 on MAD777 technique. They are left on and hanked for storage.

+1 on the figure 8 technique. Use it all the time.

I roll my tarp and tie it up with two small pieces of shock cord with cord locks. When I'm rolling my tarp I start at one corner and just roll the lines up with it. (Knock on wood) I've never tangled a line doing it this way.

Whatever works best for you! As or being a "noob" - all of us have been there!!

I always leave guylines & CRL attached - but I use mesh snakeskins, so I don't 'stuff' but rather 'roll' the tarp (& guylines) up...
Using Zing-it for guylines, they never seem to get tangled up - so far, anyway... While tarp is still hanging on CRL, I grab the two tarp corners at one end and toss the guylines onto the tarp and start rolling it up (I'm sure this is in one, or more, of Shug's videos!), then pull that end's snakeskin over the tarp; repeat for other end and 'finish' bringing both skins to the center of the rolled tarp... I then take down one end of the CRL & use the 'figure-8' method of gathering the line, but I don't lash or secure it other than tucking it into the small pocket at the end of the skins; I then fold up the skinned tarp from that end, take down the other end of the CRL and use it to wrap around the bundled tarp - the tarp is now ready for quick set-up at the next hang site...

'Play around' with your tarp set-up/take-down and see what suits you and your 'style' best - all of the previously mentioned ways of doing it 'work' well, but some ways might take more time than others - so it can also depend on the 'situation', whether on a long multiple-night hike or a one night hang, on trail or car camping, etc. - and you don't have to do it the same way 'every' time, either... Have 'fun' experimenting with it, and you soon will not be a "noob"!
    Happy trails!!!

I have attached loops of shock cord to my tie outs and when i wrap the guy lines up I just loop the shock cord over one end.
