    They are easy to make. Here is a pic of the one I did:

    The main body is one piece - I just used the ripstop's ~60" width as the length and folded it over. I opted to have it Velcro closed, but elastic/shock cord would work too. It is big enough that I can stack pads if desired.

    Each wing is a separate piece. I didn't bother with much pre-planning/measuring on them - I just cut a long strip of ripstop just taller than the wing pieces (so ~24" since the pad was 20") and hemmed the top & bottom edges. Then I laid out the two wing pads and folded the strip of fabric over it and pinned it in place to get appropriate sizing for the pockets. (Sure you could measure it all out based on the pad width and thickness to get a differential length, but what fun would that be? ) I actually even left the pad pieces in while I ran it through the thread injector; kept the foot against the edge of the pad and ended up with just the right slack to be able to slide the pad in & out. Leave a bit extra at the end so you can sew each wing onto the body.

    Here's a shot at drawing out the wings. (== shows where 2 layers of fabric are sewn together)
    Code:
     __________    __________
    (__________)==(__________)===

    Mine is here. The first shot is two, one is of the front and one is of the back the second shot is what it looks like together (it's upside down too ). I found them too long, and the corners need cut down a bit more. I will only be using this in the winter to help get my UQ down lower in temps, other than that, I don't like sleeping on the pads.

    OK...so what's new, my pictures didn't show up. I have them in my album here under the DIY area. I give up tonight.
