Lightbulb Boy Scout Troop on the AT in Virginia Wish us adults luck.

Well the Littlebogg and I leave later this afternoon for our Scout trip to backpack park of the AT in Virginia. We will be going from the Mount Rogers area to Damascus VA. We will be with a group of six Scouts and four adults. I will be bringing the WBBB to use and the Littleboog will be using his Hennessy Scout. We have been looking forward to doing this for the last few months. I will let you all know how things went when we get back on Monday night. Wish us good trails and fine weather.

Good luck, the last trip on the AT in PA with the scouts has me on a pack lightening effort. The switch to get off the ground was step one...at least when I am sleeping alone. May the rain only fall after you are under cover.

Just got back from 5 nights on the AT. 1 night there must have been 25+ cub scouts and adults at the Priest shelter. They were overrunning the shelter and using the water source for a dish cleaning sink. It was not good, nor entertaining. I said something to the adults about polluting the water source, got my water and left.

For any scouters on the board: 10 is the maximum group number in any camp site on the AT. 25+ was definitely not good.

Good luck brother, you'll need it if they're anything like my scouts, hehe.

Let us know how it goes.
