My friend Chigger, HF member from Garner, N.C., is in town this weekend, and we decided to do a short overnighter just for old times sake. Needless to say neither of us are UL hikers, but it was pathetic what we went with. I was over 40# and he was close. We only went a few miles on a river trail with no real obstacles like steep hills, but I was whipped and so was he I think. That being said, all was not bad, we have hammocks. Hammocks are a truly restorative and theraputic devise. After only eleven hours in mine I emerged fully rested and feeling ready to tackle the trail home. I simply must get my wife in my hammock for an overnighter, maybe then I can set it up in the house, who knows, she may want one as well. I also qualified in eating and drinking coffee while laying in my hammock. I must do more of this. Happy hanging, ya'll.
