    1st set of Whoopies!!

I just made my 1st set of Whoopie Slings... Kinda scarry when I hung it from a limb & put a foot in the loop to test its holding ability. All I can say is WOW... I'm impressed, solid as a rock no creep, slip or stretch. Amsteel Blue is fun to play with.

    Now I need some 10" loops & a ridgeline.

    This forum is great!

Welcome to the addiction! If you haven't seen this yet it really helps for figuring out dimensions of whoopies.

Testify! Making whoopie slings is some serious geek-fu. When I ran out of amsteel, I started finding excuses to splice braided mason's line, and even started making paracord soft shackles. Can't... Stop... Splicing

Congratulations on your success! Those babies will last you for years (though I imagine you'll wind up finding an excuse to make more ("Happy 'National Speak Like a Pirate Day', Grandma! I made you a set of whoopie slings."))

    Rock on!
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

The thing is, I just got the hammock all set up with the strap & decending rings & now have the amsteel ridgeline & really like the simplicity & quickness of the setup & take down. So I don't know when I will try them on a hammock.

Slicing is easy & fun, I like it
