Smallest you can pack a 1.7?

So I love my 1.7. It's so comfortable, when I sleep in it I wake up thinking I'm in my bed at home.

I'd like to pack it smaller though so it won't take as much room in my pack. Do I risk damaging it if I put it in a compression bag? Anyone else tried that?

First, are you talking about a single or double 1.7? Traveler or Blackbird? They all vary in size quite a bit, so it's hard to say what size each should pack.

Either way, it shouldn't hurt a hammock at all to use a compression bag. You just shouldn't use them on quilts for extended periods.

If you're still using the webbing suspension with the hammock, swapping it out for a mostly-cording option will save you quite a bit of bulk.

My wife has the 1.1 dbl its the same size as my 1.7 dbl in its stuff sack. I can get them down much smaller in a compression sack i pull the buckles out of the ends of the stuff sack to avoid any accidental damage to the netting.

You mention the same size stuff sack for the dbl 1.1 and dbl 1.7. I'm assuming the 1.1 can be stuffed smaller though (it's listed weight is about a pound less), would you say that's accurate?
