So who is going to be the first to spit out a hammock and quilts from it?

I have been wondering this too... Would it be strong enough for a hammock? I've never even seen any cuben let alone breathable cuben so I have no clue. If it is, it would probably make a great hammock material since it doesn't stretch.
It has Dyneema thread running through it, so I suspect it would be plenty strong.
I was hoping someone would make an ultralite winter hammock sock out of it.

Looking at what zpacks has. Its 1.42ozsqyd. So wouldnt be a savings in weight over 1.1 riostop. Costly over 1.5 ripstop. Now if there is a lighter version it might be cool.
I worked with this material on a recent project. It is best used for applications that put low stress on the seams. It is a 3 layer laminate so the outside layers are not like standard cuben fabrics. I do not think it would work great on projects such as a tarp etc. It does work great on projects like rain jackets and where there is a need for a waterproof breathable material.
The material will stretch until the dyneema threads stop it and does not return to original shape without help. I do not think it would work well for a hammock for this reason.
It could work as a UQ fabric for use in a wet environment. It would be quite a bit heavier than a standard UQ due to heavier fabric and the amount of tape that would be used.
I think it might be more resistant to slicing that standard cuben.
You need to pay more attention when taping because the "peel strength" is very low compared to standard cuben.
It does move moisture better than I expected and I would not hesitate to use for rain gear etc.
Bottom line it is an amazing material with the strength of dyneema fibers but is very different than standard cuben which has no stretch.
These are just my observations without any science or math to back them up
A waterproof breathable hammock sock with a gigantic bow to HangnOut! The initial impressions are this-it is the Caldera Cone of hammocks...wind screen, underquilt protector, overcover and tarp all in one.
