This is my summer to maybe shoulder season set-up. I don't like pads. Never could get real comfortable with them.

Here is the hammock with the uq on it.
nice stuff man. you should be proud. I'll bet hangs are even more special for you now. thanks for the info.

Welcome to HF! I use a windshield sun deflector with a piece of fleece sewn on top. Using just the sun deflector causes moisture from condensation - the fleece takes care of that. Longer term I want an UQ.

So I made a mistake diagnosing my issues. I wake up cold every night and FEEL wet, but have never been awake enough to tell the difference. It's not actually sweat or condensation. I'm just cold. The airflow under the hammock is kicking my butt. I'm just so cold I feel like i'm wet, if that makes sense.

I picked up a USGI poncho liner the other day, and after about two hangs it looks really promising. I slept wonderfully. Now it's time to push the limits and see how far I can take a PL. Hard to beat for $20 brand new at my local surplus store....and I got it in woodland digital to accent my woodland GTUL!!!

Any tips or tricks regarding PLs will be much appreciated! ( I am using the tutorial on this site for the 2/3 no stitch USGIPLUQ.)

I recently saw fixedbydoc's vid on a reflectix UQ. Pretty sweet. It gave me the idea to cut a piece of reflectix to fit between the layers of the folded USGIPLUQ. Hopefully I'll get the same results with half (or less) the bulk. It should boost the reflectix from R1 to R4 or R5, anyway.
