Here is a link to a lid, ring and fiberglass wrap combo. You can buy the items separately from his site as well.

Tuna Cans Are Steel. Catfood Cans Are Aluminum

Not that it necessarily matters here, but I noted while feeding Hanky that his cans are aluminum--and the pull-top leaves a nice "ledge" for a lid in the Foster's can pot. However, my flaring process was unfruitful and I ruined my first attempt. I will post photos, though, because I think I'm on to something. I like the Foster's pot concept, but I just can't see paying the 25-30 dollars you end up shucking off for a Foster's pot. Considering that the pot is fully functional left just as a fosters can--opening up the top then closing it again with a lip seems senseless.

Question--what are the differences between the Smookeeter and MBD pot rings? Is there a more reasonable deal out there? A ring of aluminum, once mass produced--as in Tinny's case--can't possibly require such a markup. I mean, some of the prices are insane. (And I love the man and his ideas.)

So. Foster's Kitty-cat pot, here we come. Stay posted.
Haywire is my trail name, but I can't change it. Ha.

Based on video's and some on line discussion I think Tinny makes his by hand in his shop. If he is having them mass produced he is paying somebody then marking them up so it's either his time or the markup and somebody else's time. I also think smokeeater908 has access to a CNC shop and is making similar product on the CNC. Less time and lower cost if he is not paying for the CNC. Also one is in the NE and one SE so there seems to be some regional loyalty. I have not seen any complaints on quality about either one.
    YMMV

I ordered a ring from minibulldesigns today and I was just thinking how am I going to make a lid..... I love this idea. Simple and effective. Love that it sits slightly inside the pot.

    Folks,
Can we please get this thread back on topic please? This is a WTB area and not a DIY area. If you have a suggestion of where the OP can purchase a ring please feel free to post it. All other comments have been removed.

    Thanks
